Other requests include an ESOL Compliance Specialist Supplement in the amount of $1500; OPS contracts for Gifted Certified/Endorsed educators who write an EP for staffing or transition; OPS contracts for those individuals who provide extended day services for late bus/car pick-up, etc. Increased supplements at hourly rate of pay for part-time and full-time workshops. The team has also requested an additional language change to the contract to address the shared responsibility of safety for our students.
The School District of Osceola has seen increased revenues and as such should prioritize teacher salaries to retain the best and brightest talent in the classrooms. While salaries alone will not do this, it is an essential factor for those who are seeking employment and those who are employed within the district. We are excited to begin the process to determine teacher salaries and are hopeful the district will be willing to accept this offer so that we may all look forward to the new school year.
