Dear OCEA Members,
Our Executive Officers are looking for committed members who want to see our union grow. The election will be held on March 12, 2025.Our Constitution and Bylaws state that OCEA notify members at least six (6) weeks before the election.
The following Executive Board positions are available for one (1) year terms: Elementary School East Representative, Elementary School West Representative, Middle School Representative, High School Representative Alternative Site Representative, Multi-Level School Representative and ESP At Large (2 seats available) (K-8) or (6-12). To serve on the Executive Board, individuals must be members in good standing for one (1) year prior to nomination. Responsibilities for the Executive Board members include attending Executive Board meetings, AR meetings, and supporting Association’s activities.
We need approximately six (6) delegates for the NEA Representative Assembly. OCEA will only be funding four ( 4) positions for the NEA RA on a 2- year rotating basis, however there are four additional slots that can be self-funded. Funding is determined by majority vote. The NEA Representative Assembly will be held on July 2nd-July 6th in Portland, Oregon. To serve as an NEA Representative, individuals must be members in good standing 30 days prior to nomination.
Forty-nine (49) delegate positions are available for the FEA Assembly. The FEA Delegate Assembly is fully funded, and it will be held in Orlando mid-September. To serve as an FEA Delegate, individuals must be members in good standing 30 days prior to nomination.
Individuals are encouraged to self-nominate or must have permission to nominate other members. Nominations will take place from January 6th thru February 7th, 2025. All voters must be in good standing thirty (30) days prior to the election.
